oh, the places you’ve been

We have brains in our heads.
We have feet in our shoes.
But we must remember the places we’ve been- they’re quite important too.

The sigh of relief, after making my first friend in post-secondary.
And how calmly self-assured I felt when I was understood creatively.

My first time travelling abroad, and seeing friends become like family.
The feeling of belonging was rather odd, but I accepted it readily.

The first time I had to sell myself, and had to puff my chest.
The first time I really put my skills to the test.

Watching my own confidence grow was really truly something.
I suddenly wanted to take up space, and had to time for sulking.

When things started to happen,
I didn’t worry much, or stew.
I just went right along,
and I started happening too.

So I’ll hold my head a high as I move mountains or whatever
and walk through life, thrilled about my next endeavour.
My time as a student may wear thin,
But I’m on my way up, thanks to the lovely places I’ve been.

knows good branding.

I'm Riley, & boring brands fear me.

I started Unless because startup branding shouldn't be boring. In fact, (🤓) the Von Restorff effect states that our brains are wired to remember what's different.

My whole brand strategy philosophy works off of this principle: Be different, get noticed, win!
